Must love dogs.

We are owners Jan and Keith Baines, and it's our honor to open our doors to your family. Our choice of children are our beloved pets; currently 3 dogs, and our love for them - and all animals, is what lead us to open Beckwith Farms Pet Retreat.
We have always been fulfilled with our furry children, including dogs, cats, horses and cows. Animals hold a very special place in our hearts. Twenty years ago, we purchased our 11 acre property with this dream in mind. Several years, many permits, and one custom-built barn later, we are proud to share our dream of a stress-free and family-style retreat for pets. By the awesome grace of God, our dreams of running a kennel are finally a reality. We are blessed!
About Jan & Keith
During Jan's 30 years in the IT Industry, she has also acted as a volunteer caring for animals with charity organization, Red Rover (formerly United Animal Nation), and the Mt. Juliet Animal Shelter. Her recent retirement has finally allowed them to, together, pursue the opening of their long-imagined pet retreat.
Keith works as a Sr. Maintenance Technician for Highwoods Properties in the prestigious Pinnacle at Symphony Place in downtown Nashville. He is lucky enough to have a schedule that gives him time in the afternoons and on weekends to help out in the kennel.
Together, they are members of First Baptist Church in Mt. Juliet, and enjoy football games, horse racing, great friends, close family and of course, their favorite furry friends.
Our Staff:
Meet Kelley Wanzek. Kelley moved to TN from Wisconsin where she double majored in Music and Business...but she knew her true calling was working with animals. Along with working here at Beckwith Farms she also volunteers at Lebanon Animal Control and Animal Rescue Corp. She has 2 years Grooming experience and is Red Cross certified in Pet First Aid. Kelley and husband Jon have 3 furry children: Edgewyn (cat), Magnet (dog) and Tucker (dog). Kelley says her favorite part of working here is seeing the daily transformation of our first time guests who walk in a little nervous but once they get to know us, are happy and really enjoy their vacation. Jan says: Kelley is simply AMAZING with animals. She has such a broad knowledge of each breeds temperament and behavior. I love to watch how she makes a special connection with each guest that stays with us. (Pictured with Kelley is sweet little lap dog Atlas.)

Cassie Bean loves all animals but she has a special place in her heart for the four-legged furry kind. Cassie brings a positive attitude to the workplace that our guests and staff genuinely enjoy. She strives to make every pet's time away from their family as pleasant as possible. She prides herself on being gentle and loving with all the animals at Beckwith Farms Pet Retreat. When she's not hard at work taking care of your fur babies, she is at home with her canine family of five; Chance, Romeo, Shadow, Shelby and Max (plus a recent new kitty yet to be named). Cassie has always been passionate about animals and loves that she gets to work with adorable cats and dogs every day. Her favorite part of the job is how each guest has the ability to give back just as much love as she gives to all of them. Jan says: I love listening to Cassie when she is playing with our furry guests...she is so warm and kind and they just eat up all her sweet affection. (Pictured with Cassie are Cooper, Eli and Archie waiting with much anticipation for her to THROW THAT TOY!!)

Kim Alley loves all animals as if they were her own. She has a diverse range of experience in animal care and has owned not only cats and dogs, but also chickens, peacocks, ducks, guineas, geese, cows, a horse and much more. She has bottle fed kittens, puppies, goats, pigs and a lamb. Before working at Beckwith Farms, Kim worked as an Animal Control Officer and fostered many dogs. Her beloved pack currently consists of 6 dogs and 2 cats. Kim says her favorite part of working here is getting to know each guest as an individual and seeing their personalities. She loves all animals but has a very special place in her heart for those who need a little extra TLC. Jan says: It's amazing to watch Kim talk with our furry guests. She has long, soft conversations with them...and when she does...they come out of their shells and they will do anything she asks of them. I call her our Pet Whisperer.
